2025/09/01
Vice Minister of Culture Hsu Yi-chun led a delegation to attend the 2025 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation High-Level Dialogue on Cultural and Creative Industries (HLD-CCI) Aug. 27 in South Korea, demonstrating government enthusiasm for working with APEC member economies in the field.
This was the first time that an APEC dialogue was held on culture, the Ministry of Culture said. Three themes in the dialogue were Connect: CCI as a New Catalyst for Economic Cooperation within APEC; Innovate: Developments in CCI Driven by Digital and AI Innovation and Prosper: Advancing a Prosperous Asia-Pacific Community through CCI.
Hsu shared examples of technological innovation in cultural industries and international cooperation on intellectual property rights as evidenced by Brogent Technologies Inc.-developed flying theater as well as the 2023 film "Marry My Dead Body," which was adapted as a Thai-language movie. Taiwan Creative Content Agency's collaboration with Japan, Thailand and the U.S pointed to potential for further international collaborative projects, Hsu noted.
The vice minister pointed out that integrating cultural content with technology was a catalyst for cross-sector innovation, adding that Taiwan is actively formulating guidelines on the application of generative artificial intelligence in art and culture.
The MOC is committed to leveraging culture to deepen links with partners.
