Taipei International Gift and Stationary Show 2016- Guatemala Pavilion

“Taipei International Gift and Stationary Show” will be held in TWTC Exhibition Hall 1 from April 22 to 25. Embassy of the Republic of Guatemala will participate in this event by means of “Guatemala Pavilion” with the assistance of Central America Trade Office. One official and one representative will come to Taiwan for the promotion of art crafts of Guatemala on behalf of Ministry of Economy (MINECO) and Guatemalan Exporters Association - AGEXPORT (AGEXPORT) respectively. Various handicrafts and home décor accessories showing Latin characteristics and Mayan culture will be displayed during the exhibition.

Guatemala is located in Central America with rich terrain and abundant natural resources and is also the heart of Mayan culture as well as one of the main production countries of handicrafts and home décor accessories. With the influence of natural environment and culture, it also makes good use of its advantages to create diverse products with rich color and unique design in addition to showing its simple and diversified national conditions. The products are not only for the purpose of decoration but also emphasizes on their usefulness. It also expresses an alternative art form integrated with artistry.

The exhibition will overturn the conventional stereotype of Guatemala and it will exhibits many delicate handmade textile products such as handmade bed covers, cushion covers and napkins, various wooden products and other home décor accessories, showing an alternative folk style and exploration of the unique beauty of Guatemala.

Central America Trade Office invites you to explore the local customs and fine art of Guatemala together, integrate cultural creativity into Guatemala’s traditional art crafts, develop new business opportunities and promote bilateral cooperation relations.
